Thanks to the industry-wide adoption of BIM, acronyms such as IFC (that’s Industry Foundation Classes, for all of you “pen and paper will never die” kids) have entered the common vernacular. As we move towards a future of open collaboration between all parties, it can only be a matter of time before we too will have to express ourselves solely as IFC Schemas to identify commonalities and prevent clash detection.
